About

I am a professor of English who has lived in Florida for the past seventeen years.  A couple of years ago, I read an article by James Callahan called, Teaching Hometown Literature:  A Pedagogy of Place (College English 70.3, 2008), and it inspired me to discover what a hometown literature of my place would look like.  This blog is part of that journey, as I organize the information I have learned and begin to present Florida Literature in the form of a graduate class I will teach in the fall.  I hope that this blog will encourage a conversation about the diverse literatures of this unique place.
